Insomnia is basically a disorder dealing with the ability of people falling asleep. It refers to people having difficulty sleeping even if they have all the time in the world to do so. Some people cannot just go to bed and sleep, well the words some people actually means a lot of people. Around 40 to 50 percent of the total American population does visit a physician to complain regarding insomnia, taking under consideration that they do not visit the same physician. The Department of Health and Human Services reports that around 60 million of American citizens suffer from insomnia each year. People suffering from insomnia are referred as insomniacs. Insomniacs are not able to give rest to their mind; either they have an organic problem or a non-organic one which constitutes insomnia. According to a survey it was found that insomnia increases with age and it affects around 30 percent of the men and somewhere close to 40 percent of the women.
There are three types of insomnia which steals away someone’s sleep. The first is a Transient insomnia where a person is a not able to grab sleep from last few days or weeks. The reason for a transient disorder can be other disorders or physical problems, change in the sleeping environment like maybe changing your room or moving to a whole new apartment or too much of stress at work. This kind of disorder is normal or an individual might fall under this from time to time. The second type of insomnia is, the Acute Insomnia. This is a category of people who face the problems of sleeplessness for about 3 weeks to six months. The last one is the chronic insomnia which possibly causes the disorder to last from months to years.
There can be a reason that it might be because of some other disorder or for some often them this may be a major disorder. The effects that may cause to a person falling under this one can be muscular fatigue or a mental fatigue too. There is a surprising statement or a thesis written that insomniacs suffering from chronic insomnia are more alert than the rest.
Insomnia can be caused because of intake of psychoactive drugs like cocaine or other stimulants like caffeine. Feelings and moods like fear, stress, mental tensions and no satisfaction with the sex life can also be a cause for insomnia.
You may be trying to sleep and get rid of insomnia from a long time but if nothing has helped you yet, then it’s the time to switch to the most effective treatment that is hypnosis.
