Many people believe that the creative process is reserved for artists, musicians and maybe even someone who is an aspiring actor.

This article was written specifically to help you understand and master the creative process, even if you aren't an artist. And you will start to feel better and better about yourself because you will realize you can be much more productive and successful in your life.

It is worth learning. You can cut through the inaccurate teachings of the past. It is how you shortcut to the success in your future. Let me tell you a little more about it.

During the early years of education many were taught that if you get it wrong the first time you had failed. You failed to get the result that was demanded of you. It may have been implied that you should just "give up" on the whole situation because of that failure.

Maybe you were even made to feel like a failure yourself because you couldn't do a particular task well. Unfortunately, that feeling for some has carried over into their entire life. They feel like total failures in life and it started with not doing that one thing right.

Have you dragged that ball and chain into adulthood? Maybe you felt you weren't good at relationships, sports, technical situations, making money or artistic and creative activities.

Ok, time to learn how to change that and I mean right now.

Your future depends on it. Remember when you first learned to tie your shoes? You failed the first few times didn't you? But your parents kept after you to take responsibility and keep trying.

I personally think it was because they didn't want to run around after you for the rest of their lives tying your shoes. They were motivated and so you got the encouragement you needed to keep trying each time you failed.

Take that from a small scale of learning to tie your shoes to a larger scale. Think of something you want to accomplish in your life. Would you like to start a new business, learn a language, travel to china? What is that one thing that you have been longing to do? Got it? If so read on.

To master the creative the process and reach your goal, the first thing you must do is take responsibility for where you are in your life right now. That is where you start to take control.

Have you noticed yet that if it is everybody else's fault that you are in your present situation then you have given your ability to change that circumstance to someone else. You have no capacity to improve your life because you really don't feel like you are in control. You alone are responsible for the way you think and the way your life is right now.

The second step in the creative process is that you have a thought about something you want to do, have or create. Thought is the foundation for your action. Here's why. You will only take action on a thought you believe in.

For example, if you believe that you will be buying a new red mustang you start seeing red mustangs everywhere. That thought has ignited an exciting image in your mind and is playing out in the real world. Weird isn't it?

Action is the first physical step in taking the thought into the world. This action might be in the form of research or learning about the best way to go about getting your desired result.

But there is more. Let me show you. This is the place that many people miss the boat. If you don't get your desired result the first time many people just give up and quit.

If you only knew how close to a breakthrough you are at that particular moment, it would blow you away! This part of the process is correction. Try it again. Try it a little differently. Try it with some advice from someone who has done it before. The point is don't give up. You are so close! Complete the correction process!

Sometimes the accomplishment of a dream seems like it will never really happen.

I hate to say this, because I don't know you very well, but you are wrong! You can do it. It is important for you to really learn, understand and practice this process going through the steps until you achieve success. So, if the desire is real, and not just something that would be nice to have or fun to do, follow the creative process and you will accomplish that goal!

Let's look at the creative process one last time.

Cause ~ Thought ~ Action ~ Result ~ Correction

You are the cause of a thought upon which you take action which produces a result and you make a correction until you finish it. Which is what I just did with this article!
