You may have thought that pad printing is as easy as making a design and then having that design printed into your custom notepad. Unfortunately though, I must tell you that it isn't as simple as that. Besides the design there are several pad printing choices that you must decide on before handing your design over to the notepad printing company. These choices are important so that the printing company will know how and what to print on your notepad. Knowing these choices will make your life and the printer's job easier since you both will save time in the note pad printing process. So get ready to copy-paste and read through the things you have to decide on when printing your custom note pad.
Notepad Type
Did you know that there are different types of notepads? There are “post-it” type pads, simple “tear-off” versions, magnetized notepads and rubber glued types. Also, there are other special types with various unique folds and gluing material. The most common type that people use to print notepads however are the “tear off” and “sticky-note” style pads. If you plan on giving away your custom pads to your customers, then may be you should try the magnetized notepads so that they can be stuck unto refrigerators. If you plan on giving your color notepads as office supplies then the “post-it” style pads are the most useful. For elegant company stationaries or personal letterheads, the tear off style is the most appropriate. All in all, you have to decide on which notepad type fits your purposes, as well as the image you want to portray to the person you are giving the pads to. Decide on the best type that gives you the best impact as well as the most use.
Color
Color? Of course color! You weren't going to plan on using a plain white note pad for everything right? It is always better to add some color to your custom notepad. It can be just a full color logo for the side of the notepad, or your whole pad can be printed in color paper. This adds some life into your pad, making it more unique and eye catching. Be sure to choose your color wisely though. If your note pad is on the personal side, then use your favorite color, or any of the more bright ones. If you are using this for formal functions like in the office, or as a marketing tool then light, formal colors are often preferred. Just like choosing the notepad type, adapt the use of color for your purposes. Ask your note pad printing company of the popular colors being used in pad printing to give you an idea of what you may use.
Size
Size does matter, even in pad printing. You have to decide on the right size of your notepad before even trying to design your custom notepad. Again, it all depends on your purpose. If you are going to use it for small reminders and notes in the office, like “post it” notes then keep the size small and manageable. If it is going to be used for bigger writing projects, for letters or lists for example, then a bigger size is advisable to fit your writing needs. For marketing notepads, where you are going to give the pads away as gifts, the smaller the pads, the better. Since with smaller pads, you can print more numbers of them considering a limited budget. This gives you more pieces to distrubute.
Great! I hope this gave you a good idea of the choices you need to make when note pad printing. Keep these details in mind as you design your custom notepad, and when you go to your pad printing service. Be creative with your choices, and always find the right pad design for you.
