Solid Wood Floors – With this type of flooring, if the floor is above or on the ground level then it can actually be placed on top of concrete. There are three basic types of solid wood floors which are strip flooring, plank flooring boards and parquet flooring.
Engineered Hardwood Floors – This type of flooring consists of several layers of different woods. Compared to solid wood flooring, the engineered flooring has less chance of being affected by any sudden changes in humidity.
Wood Laminate Flooring – This is quite a popular type of hardwood flooring and it is a plywood base that has a top layer consisting of veneer. You can sand and finish this type of hardwood flooring up to 3 times maximum.
Overall there are some great choices out there when it comes to hardwood flooring, so when the multi million pound question is asked about what flooring should you choose - the answer comes down to each individual, because everyone is different based upon what they want or need in their home.
